In the film The Fountain, the concept of restoration of primordial chaos is represented through the tree. The sick tree symbolized the main characters wife who is dying of a tumor, and he becomes the plant. Their eternal love for each other is symbolized through the plants. Even though she dies they will always remain close to each other.
